Natural heritage
Its mountainous orography is marked by the transition of a wild landscape, which culminates in the Pena Rojiza, at an altitude of 1,227 metres, with the progressive descent to the valleys of the rivers Deva and Miño.
This special configuration offers numerous natural resources of great scenic beauty. The archaeological remains found indicate that the town hall had an early occupation. The oldest vestiges are the “Mámoas de Bandexa”, with the castros of Desteriz, Monterredondo and La Torre as the main traces of the military period.
