Distance: 12 km.
Starting from Mugueimes, the capital of the town council, we begin our journey in the Rectoral de San Pedro (Class A), where we begin the ascent to the Clamadoira hermitage, where we can contemplate a beautiful view of the As Conchas reservoir. At the foot of the chapel there is a two hundred year old oak tree which, according to popular tradition, hides a treasure among its roots. Vicente Risco tells us that in this temple of Marian devotion a popular pilgrimage was celebrated in the place where the fight against the Moors was called.
We can continue our way through the “do Chairo” mountain, until we reach the nucleus of Prado. At the exit we cross the Salas river by a stone bridge, and continue up the mountain until we reach Salgueiro. In order to access the village, it is necessary to ask for permission from the Baixa Limia-Xurés Natural Park, as this is where the adaptation centre for the mountain goat and the garrano horse is located.
