Route of A Broa
Circular: YES
Distance:13.86 km
Technical difficulty: Moderate
The route has an approximate length of 13.4 km, with circular design. We left the Parroira bar and went down to Fontao. We skirted the old school, now restored, and turn right to continue along the “Camino de los Pequeños” until we reach the paved road, descending a few meters and continue right on the “Cancelo curve” along the dirt track.
We arrive at the “Ferreiro oak”, and at the crossroads we will continue straight on the path of Magarelos, until we reach a new indication that tells us to turn left to descend the “Poulo road”, until we meet the road they see. the Portela. At this point we follow the left descending until we reach the side of the Arnoia river, in the “dam of Cholas”. We continue along the left bank, leaving the remains of the dam, ponte and mills in ruins. We follow the wide path and ascend to the abandoned village of the “Ponte Ermita”. We went through a small stream and continued the hillside above the “dam of Cándido”, until we reach a detour to the left to continue along the “camino del Cándido” to the “Castelo” area. We continue on the road to the right in the area of the “Fonte Vieja” until we reach the town of Covas del Río. Following the indications we arrive at the “Otilia era”, continuing through the canella we see in front to go out to a grove and continue along the path, until the “Covelo” area. We continue to the left and ascend the “Morgade road” to the area of the “huertas de Salpurido”, leaving to our right the rocks called “el coto de las Moás”. The right descending on the “path of the Forest” arrived after going down a small zigzag to the “Fuentecilla del Bosque”. We continue through this beautiful spot hanging over the Arnoia river, coming to see on our right the “Canal del Ruca” on the right bank of the river. Following the indications, we cross through the passages, passing next to the chapel, to leave the road again, and then continue along the path that, in a slight ascent, leads us to Olás. We will see an indication of the roteiro below the sports court. We reach the road again and turn left before the fountain go up the right, through the area of the canastros until we see again a sign that tells us to continue on the left, to go to “Fuente de los Ojos”. We can deviate a few meters to the right to see this famous rock or follow our left along the road for 150 meters, and then turn right down the pine forest to the town of Oxén. We follow the left and without deviating we arrive at the “Camino Real”. At the crossroads, again the left we continue to “the Campo Grande”. We advance until we reach the road of the Rebola. We cross and the 50 meters we continue straight to continue along the “Camino Real” until we reach the Parroira Bar again.
